गुरुर्ब्रह्मा गुरुर्विष्णुः गुरुर्देवो महेश्वरः

गुरु साक्षात् परं ब्रह्मा तस्मै श्री गुरवे नमः॥

The Guru is Brahma (the creator), the guru is Vishnu (the preserver), and the guru is Maheshvara (Shiva, the transformer).

The Guru is verily the Supreme Absolute. I offer my salutations to that revered Guru.

This is Guru Mantra. The true meaning of Guru is “one who dispels darkness of ignorance”

“Gu” means ‘Darkness of ignorance’ & “Ru” means ‘one who removes’ The guru creates, sustains knowledge & destroys ignorance. By doing so we the seekers are liberated from the trap of Maya (illusion) & thereby attaining Moksha (Liberation). For this we bow down with utmost humility and total gratitude to the Guru.

Guru Mantra is composed of three powerful phrases that capture its essence:

Gurur-Brahma: These two words acknowledge and revere our gurus - a spiritual guide who illuminates our path with knowledge and wisdom. "Gurur" refers to both external teachers and our inner guiding light, while "Brahma" represents creation itself.
