'Shankh' means "Conch" and 'Prakshalan' means "To wash completely". Here the Digestive Tract is referred to as conch.
Master Cleansing, also known as Shankha Prakshalan or Varisar Dhauti. This ancient yogic technique, described in the 'Gherand Samhita'—a 13th-century text on Hatha Yoga by Sage Gherand—offers a profound way to cleanse and rejuvenate your digestive system.
Benefits of Shankh Prakshalan
Thorough Detoxification: Removes toxins and harmful substances from the digestive system.
Improved Digestion: Enhances enzyme secretion and food absorption.
Balanced Peristalsis: Normalizes bowel movements.
Blood Sugar and Blood Pressure: Helps in normalizing blood sugar levels and blood pressure.
My Unique Approach
My approach to Shankh Prakshalan combines traditional techniques with personalized guidance to ensure a safe and effective cleanse. I provide a supportive environment, incorporating specific yogic practices and dietary guidance tailored to your needs.
Your Supportive Overnight Shankha Prakshalan Experience
To enhance your cleansing experience, I offer an overnight stay at my place. Your stay includes:
Special Meals: Post cleanse support to restore your digestive function, with GHEE to coat the intestinal walls until the body produces new mucus lining.
Yoga Nidra Session: A deeply relaxing Yoga Nidra (Guided Meditation) session to help you rest and rejuvenate after the cleanse.
Take-Home Package: You will receive a package to support your post-cleanse dietary requirements at home.
The Process
Preparation: The process begins with the consumption of two glasses of salted water.
Asanas: Six specific asanas designed to facilitate the movement of water through the digestive system pushing all the toxins out of your body.
Repetition: Continue this cycle, drinking more salted water and performing the asanas, until you have consumed between 12 to 18 glasses of water.
Bowel Movements: You can empty your bowels whenever you feel the pressure during the process.
Completion: The process continues until clear water is expelled from the colon, indicating a thorough cleanse.
Important Considerations
Supervision: This process should be done only under the supervision of an experienced Yogi or Ayurveda practitioner due to potential risks, such as increased blood pressure from the salt and other contraindications.
Contraindications: People with high blood pressure, heart disease, hemorrhages, ulcers, pregnancy, or menstruation should avoid this practice.
How It Works
Osmotic Pressure: The salt in the water increases the osmotic pressure in the intestines, preventing the water from being absorbed into the bloodstream. This helps draw out cellular water and toxins from the intestinal cells into the lumen of the intestine through a process called reverse osmosis.
Detoxification: The expelled cellular water carries with it toxins and harmful substances accumulated in the intestinal cells, aiding in detoxification.
Digestive Health: The practice helps remove sticky mucus contaminated with additives, preservatives, and chemicals from the intestinal cells, improving enzyme secretion and food absorption.
Peristalsis: Shankha Prakshalan normalizes peristaltic movements by stimulating the intrinsic nerve plexus and intestinal muscles, promoting healthy bowel movements.
